Trojan Signing Day: USC and Lincoln Riley deliver a memorable Monday

Monday was one for the history books at USC. This was no ordinary day in football recruiting; it was a special day which had the school and fan base buzzing.

All of this happened without an athletic director. Imagine that!

When offensive lineman Manasse Itete became the third player to announce a commitment to USC on Monday, it began to sink in how remarkable the day was.

We wrote:

“Itete joins four other recruits who have committed to USC since Saturday evening: offensive lineman Hayden Treter from the state of Colorado, safety Jarvis Boatwright from the state of Florida, cornerback Dakoda Fields from Gardena, Calif., and edge rusher Kameryn Fountain from Atlanta.

“What adds to the excitement surrounding Itete’s recruitment is that it doesn’t seem like the end of this flurry for USC. More commitments could be just around the corner in an explosive, thrilling time for this fan base and football community.”

That next recruitment was pointed to later on Monday. Lincoln Riley didn’t even wait for Tuesday. One more “Fight On!” emoji was tweeted on Monday evening, signaling a fourth commitment on Monday to join Fields, Fountain, and Itete, the three previous commits.

Let’s share what others are saying about USC’s magic Monday in recruiting:
