By Devon Forward,

The late Anne Heche 's 14-year-old son, Atlas Tupper , made a rare public appearance with his father, James Tupper , at an event on June 2.

The father-son duo attended the Race To Erase MS 30th Anniversary Gala in Los Angeles, California, posing on the red carpet–which was turned orange as it's the official color for multiple sclerosis awareness.

Atlas, who looks so much like his mother, matched Tupper in a chic black suit with a white button-up shirt.

While attending the gala, Tupper touched on the family's life after Heche's death.

The 57-year-old spoke to People , saying, "We're taking care of each other and taking it one day at a time. We've got a lot of great support and family around us, and it doesn't help.”

Tupper added, "We still miss her, we miss her every day, love her.”

In August, it will be a year since Heche died. The actress passed away last summer after crashing her car. She was in a coma for a week after the initial accident before succumbing to her injuries .
