2025 4-star DL London Merritt includes Trojans in list of top schools

Atlanta (Ga.) Woodward Academy defensive lineman London Merritt has placed the USC Trojans among his top schools. The Georgia native, a four-star prospect in the 2025 class, is also considering Clemson, Alabama, Florida, Florida State, LSU, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Colorado.

Last season as a sophomore, Merritt tallied nine sacks in 11 games. He totaled 33 tackles, including six for a loss. He also had two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

Merritt has Alabama high on his board. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine currently favors Alabama in Merritt’s recruitment.

“I like them a lot,” Merritt told On3 back on May 17. “They’re a great program. I get love from their players. They build them and get them ready for the NFL, which is my main goal. They have a good coaching staff. Coach Saban is a good guy. He sees a lot of potential in me.”

It is hard to compete with the brand name of Alabama, but USC obviously has to win its share of battles with other national powerhouses as it moves to the Big Ten. National recruiting wins outside the West are crucial to developing the Trojans on a larger scale.
