Duce Robinson finally committed to USC football plus the latest on Dylan Raiola as there has been a key shit with his crystal ball.

USC football closed the 2023 recruiting class pretty strong on signing day and that trend continued on Thursday night as elite tight end and freakish athlete Duce Robinson announced his commitment to the Trojans.

For a long time, Georgia was the presumed favorite for the 6-foot-5, 230-pound tight end that also has hopes of being a first-round draft pick in the MLB draft and there has been talk of him playing both sports professionally.

I don’t know how that will work but this is a huge pickup for USC football. Robinson has talked about wanting to play with Caleb Williams next season and that had to be part of the final factor plus the Trojans don’t have a tight end like Brock Bowers who will dominate the targets.

Robinson is going to have a chance to make an impact. He has indicated that he will be on campus for move-in day, but it’s hard to guess what his impact will be next season, especially at tight end.

That being said, Robinson is a one-of-a-kind athlete and elite quarterbacks are usually pretty good at using unique weapons.

USC football might not be relying on Robinson right away next season but by November and later in the season, you can almost count on Robinson being part of the offense. He was also highly, highly productive last season in high school with 84 receptions for 1,614 yards and 14 touchdown receptions which is pretty unheard of for a tight end.

Robinson can be flexed out as a wide receiver and the idea of Williams having a 6-foot-6 freak to throw the ball too is somewhat scary, although adding Robinson to a tight end room with Bowers would have been scary too.

In the end, it’s another big recruiting victory for USC football and the second time since signing day that they won a recruitment for a blue-chip tight end over Georgia as Walker Lyons also committed to the Trojans in February over the Bulldogs.

Dylan Raiola crystal ball flips to Georgia

In another development that concerns USC football and Georgia on the recruiting trail, the crystal ball projection of Steve Wiltfong has flipped back to Georgia.

For a while, after the national championship game, Wiltfong had his crystal ball on Georgia for the No. 1 overall prospect and quarterback in the 2024 class according to the 247 sports composite rankings.

Raiola recently visited Georgia and Nebraska. He was supposed to visit Oregon and Nebraska (again) in April, but he won’t take any visits in April.

Dylan Raiola does have an official visit set with Georgia already in June. It seems like Nebraska, USC football, and Oregon will also get official visits, but it seems like something has shifted in Georgia’s favor, at least, according to Wiltfong.
