The Los Angeles Lakers are currently 37-37, tied with the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference standings for the 7-seed.

Minnesota however owns the tiebreaker over Los Angeles, meaning that they are currently the 7-seed in the conference and the Lakers are the 8-seed.

There is very little room for error in Los Angeles with just eight games remaining and they will face another big game on Sunday afternoon when the Chicago Bulls come to town.

On Saturday night ahead of this important game on Sunday afternoon, the Lakers made a roster adjustment by recalling rookie Max Christie from the South Bay Lakers in the NBA G League.

Christie had recently been assigned to the G League on following their victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday.

Playing for the South Bay Lakers on Saturday evening, Christie recorded 17 points, six rebounds and two steals against the G League Ignite.

Drafted 35th overall by the Lakers this past offseason, Max Christie has spent a good amount of time in the G League, as Los Angeles is looking to give him as much time as possible to work on his craft and overall skill.

They have assigned and recalled him to and from the G League quite a bit this season and it would be no surprise to see him sent back to South Bay following the Lakers game against the Bulls on Sunday.

Playing in 38 games for the Lakers this season, Christie has averaged 3.4 points and 1.9 rebounds in about 13.3 minutes per game.

His best game came on January 9 against the Denver Nuggets, as Max Christie recorded a career-high 14 points on 6-8 shooting, 2-3 from three-point range in a total of 26 minutes.
