The latest update on Lebron James’ foot injury is not going to be well-received by Los Angeles Lakers fans.
The Los Angeles Lakers were one of the most active teams before the NBA trade deadline in February. The moves the organization made varied from minor to blockbuster, but in the end, it seemed to improve the team tremendously.
Over the last couple of weeks, the Lakers have been playing consistently good basketball and have finally landed one of the available spots for the postseason. What makes it all the more impressive is the fact that they have done this without Lebron James.

The NBA scoring king went down with a foot injury in early March and has missed the Los Angeles Lakers last seven games. And unfortunately for LA fans, it seems like the NBA legend is still far from making a return to the floor for the team with the ninth-best record in the Western Conference.

On a recent edition of “The Hoop Collective” podcast, ESPN NBA insider Brian Windhorst gave an update on the injury situation with Lebron James, and it is not at all promising.
“What I’ve heard on LeBron is that he is not close. That was what I was told: Not close. Does that mean he’s out for six months? No… I know that everybody said the three weeks, but I think it was very clear that three weeks is when he is going to get the official reevaluation, it didn’t mean he was coming back in three weeks. I know that LeBron has played through injuries in the past. I’m not 100% sure that this is an injury he can play through.”

Fortunately for the Los Angeles Lakers, Anthony Davis has been outstanding over the last few weeks in leading the team back to prominence. However, if the team hopes to be a dark horse in the NBA playoffs, they will need James back and at 100% health and chemistry with some of his new teammates before the postseason kicks off.
That may be far from assured at this point.
