The Lorain Palace Theatre was transformed into a princess palace for its first Princess Experience event March 26.

Provided through Moxie Events of Warren, OH, the program is a relatively new experience. Previous shows have been done in Warren, Kent and Youngstown with the latest hitting Lorain.

“We have the princesses do shows and the kids get to meet with them as well as dance,” said Asha Gregory, event coordinator with the company. “It is a nice family friendly event for everyone to enjoy, really.”

The event sold just over 300 tickets with over half being kids. While it was geared for ages ten and younger, Gregory said they welcomed everyone regardless of age or gender. Children were encouraged to come dressed as their favorite princesses where they got to do a meet and greet with Tiana, Ariel, Belle and Elsa.

“We tried to chose princesses that are popular at the time,” Gregory said. “Obviously Elsa has been a fan favorite for many while we have also gotten requests for Ariel and Tiana.”

Belle rounds off the list due to the theme of the event. Following the meet and greet and dance off, the young princesses were treated to special showing of “Beauty and the Beast” on the big screen.

“The event is really about bringing everyone together to enjoy a day and have fun getting out of the house,” said Gregory. “I have seen some grandparents here with their grandkids as well as parents and even siblings. It is just great.”

One young princess who asked not to be named, expressed her joy of the event, especially at seeing her favorite princesses in person.

“I love Moana and Elsa and I am really excited that I got to see Elsa,” she said.

Moxie Events will return to the Palace theatre in May for a Whitney Houston inspired show. The princess experience event is also rumored to make a comeback, although details have not been released.
