    West Virginia man arrested following multi-county high-speed chase

    UPSHUR COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A high-speed chase spanning three counties ended with the arrest of a 29-year-old West Virginia man.

    According to the Upshur County Sheriff’s Office, the pursuit began in Upshur County and continued for 38 miles through Lewis County, finally concluding in Stonewood in Harrison County.

    The suspect has been identified as Zackery Michael Shook, 29, of Mount Clair.

    Shook attempted to evade law enforcement by fleeing on foot after abandoning his vehicle.

    Authorities deployed K-9 units, drones, and manpower from several agencies to track and apprehend him.

    Shook faces charges of felony fleeing and felony fleeing while under the influence of a controlled substance in both Upshur and Harrison counties.

    The Upshur County Sheriff’s Office expressed gratitude to all agencies that assisted in the search and arrest.
