Brush Fire Destroys Residence, Arsonist Confesses

MASON COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A devastating brush fire broke out late Friday night, consuming a residence in Mason County .

The fire, believed to have been intentionally set , originated from a neighboring camper and spread quickly, engulfing the home of Treva Baker.

According to eyewitnesses, as concerned neighbors rushed to help Baker escape her burning home, they saw Curtis Kemble, the occupant of the adjacent camper, standing nearby and laughing. Witnesses reported that Kemble made no effort to help or stop the fire from spreading.

In a conversation with the fire marshal, Kemble allegedly admitted to starting the fire. He reportedly explained that the fire had spread from his property to Baker’s residence, but he made no attempt to intervene as it moved toward her home.

Local authorities are investigating the incident, with Kemble facing serious charges related to arson and endangerment. Further details are expected as the investigation continues.
