Man puts ex-girlfriend in chokehold while she was attempting to leave residence

ELKVIEW, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One man has been arrested for putting his ex-girlfriend in a chokehold while attempting to leave a residence.

According to a criminal complaint, on August 29, police responded to a domestic disturbance in Elkview.

Upon police arrival, the female victim was waiting by the road for law enforcement.

The victim told police that she and her ex-boyfriend, 47-year-old Richard Hedrick, got into an argument.

The victim stated that during the argument Hedrick became aggressive and when she went to leave the residence, Hedrick put her into a chokehold.

Hedrick was arrested and charged with Domestic Battery.

He is currently at South Central Regional Jail on a $2,500 cash-only bond.
