Jerry Asmusssen named ‘Citizen of the Year’ by Tonasket Chamber
TONASKET – The Tonasket Chamber of Commerce held an event honoring community members and raising money for the “Teen Kitchen” last Friday evening. There was a full turnout of local businesses and others from the community for the awards and fundraiser. Local businesses and others donated cakes and other pastries that were auctioned off raising $1700. Local auctioneer and longtime resident Jerry Asmussen volunteered to do the calling. The Teen Kitchen program is manned by students from Tonasket High School.

Quincy FFA kicked off its annual plant sale on Thursday, April 25, in the FFA greenhouse behind Quincy High School. Community members lined up to purchase bedding plants and vegetable starts grown by Quincy FFA students in their horticulture class. Proceeds from the plant sale supported FFA members on their trip to the state convention and other chapter activities throughout the year.

Brewster hosts Oroville. Liberty Bell plays at Bridgeport. Manson welcomes Pateros. Ephrata’s on the road at Grandview. Quincy hosts Warden tonight at 6. The 7 o’clock matches have West Valley at Eastmont while Wenatchee travels to Moses Lake.
