Drivers may want to avoid the area of Nelson Road and Hover Street throughout the day on Tuesday as heavy traffic delays are expected.
A traffic light at the intersection was damaged when a truck hit it on Friday night. Crews are expected to begin work to replace the light Tuesday morning, which will cause traffic delays late into Tuesday evening, according to a news release from the city of Longmont.
The intersection will remain open during the construction but travelers should expect lane restrictions.
Alta Drive between Ninth and Tenth avenues will be closed for tree trimming from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday. A detour will be in place for vehicular, bike and pedestrian traffic.
Pratt Street, also between Ninth and Tenth avenues, will be closed for tree trimming from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Travelers should expect a detour in the area.
Vivian Street between 15th Avenue and Judson Drive will be closed for a sewer repair. The construction is expected to last from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
