Leicester, North Carolina Man states He's going to Blow up Courthouse in London, Kentucky

LONDON, KY - The London Police Department is reporting that a North Carolina man was arrested for disorderly conduct and threatening to kill police officers after causing a ruckus inside the London BP Truck Stop.

Brian Kendall Bank, age 40, of Hayes Cove Road, Leicester, N.C., was arrested at 10:30 P.M. on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 by London Police Ofc. Cpl. Ben Webb, assisted by Ofc. Jared Hale, Ofc. John Inman and K-9 Ofc. Ryan Jackson.

According to Ofc. Webb’s report, London Police officers were dispatched to the truck stop in reference to a male subject under the influence and while on the way there, a second caller said the male was screaming, then jumped into a truck and sped away quickly.

The truck struck a curb, disabling it, and dislodged a motorcycle on the back.

Officers attempted to conduct a field sobriety test, but Bank refused and started yelling and cussing at the officers and became extremely disorderly.

Bank was taken to St. Joseph Hospital for a blood draw, but had to be removed due to the safety and concern of hospital staff and patients.

Brian Bank was arrested and while on the way to the Laurel County Correctional Center, Bank stated he was going to kill Cpl. Webb by cutting his head off with a sword, kill the judge, blow up the courthouse and kill all U.S. Marshalls inside.

Brian Bank was was charged with:

  • Operating a motor vehicle under the influence
  • Terroristic threatening
  • Menacing
  • Disorderly conduct
  • Resisting arrest

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
