Missing Utah man found dead in Southeast Idaho
A missing Utah man has been found deceased in Southeast Idaho. Bear Lake County sheriff's deputies located the remains of Paul Illum, 50, of Brigham City, in his vehicle on private property near Bear Lake around 12:50 p.m. Thursday, authorities said. Illum had been reported missing in November 2023 by his family and the Bear Lake Sheriff's Office and other law enforcement agencies in the region were involved in the extensive search for him. Authorities said there was no apparent cause of death for Illum and an autopsy will be performed. "The (Illum) family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to everyone who helped during this difficult time," Brigham City police stated in a news release.
