LOGAN – Officials in Logan have announced modified schedules for Logan City services and facilities during the Memorial Day holiday.

All city offices — including the Community Recreation Center and Logan Landfill and its Transfer Station — will be closed on Monday, May 29 in observance of Memorial Day.

The Logan Library will be closed from Saturday, May 27 to Monday, May 29.

The Logan River Golf Course, however, will be open for regular hours throughout the Memorial Day weekend, weather permitting.

The Logan Aquatic Center will open for the summer season at noon on Saturday, May 27 and be open for regular hours throughout the rest of the weekend.

“Residential garbage, recycling and green waste will not be collected as usual on Monday, May 29,” according to Logan Public Works spokesperson Emily Malik.

The city’s Environmental Department will begin efforts to make-up waste collection on Tuesday, May 29.

The majority of routes normally collected on Monday and Tuesday will be collected on Tuesday, May 29, Malik added.

“But some areas may experience a service delay extending beyond one day,” Malik explained.

“We hope to be caught up by Friday, June 2. We ask that all residents have all cans to the curb by 7 a.m. on their collection day as all normal driving routes may not be followed.”

Malik said that residents should leave their trash containers at the curb until they are emptied.

Garbage and recycling routes for commercial customers will be serviced as usual.
