LOGAN – Hyrum Martin, a student at Mount Logan Middle School, is celebrating his academic success as he becomes the lucky winner of a $500 scholarship savings account through Zions Bank’s Pays for A’s program. The regional drawing took place at the Logan Pioneer branch, where Zions Bank employees surprised Martin with the exciting news.

Pays for A’s is a program designed to reward local students for their scholastic achievements. Martin earned his entry into the drawing by bringing his report card to Zions Bank, where he was compensated for each “A” grade he received.

Mallori Cutlip, the manager of Zions Bank’s Logan Pioneer branch, expressed her delight in recognizing Martin’s hard work through the Pays for A’s program.

Working hard in school pays off in so many ways, and we’re pleased to acknowledge Hyrum for his efforts,” Cutlip commented.

For the past two decades, Pays for A’s has recognized and rewarded thousands of students across Utah and Idaho for their academic dedication. Students between the ages of 12 and 18, attending middle school, junior high, or high school, can participate by presenting their most recent term-end report card at any Zions Bank location.

Participants are then entitled to receive $1 for each “A” grade deposited into their savings account, or they can choose to receive 50 cents for each “A” in cash. It’s important to note that students are not required to have a Zions Bank account to take part in the program.

Furthermore, for every “A” on their report cards, students are automatically entered into a drawing to win one of the 18 regional scholarships awarded twice a year, each valued at $500. Additionally, there is a grand prize drawing held in each state.
