GUTHRIE, Ky. – Logan County and nearby residents will soon have access to cleaner water.

Gov. Andy Beshear presented more than $2.4 million Tuesday to support cleaner water projects in Logan and Todd counties.

The governor arrived in Todd County to join Logan/Todd Regional Water Commission to celebrate its 20th anniversary, as well as the announcement earlier this afternoon.

The money will fund projects to improve wastewater treatment plants, replace pipes and meters and improve sewer plants.

In addition, Beshear’s office says $433,048 is going to the Logan/Todd Regional Water Commission from the Cleaner Water Program for two projects.

John Mason Barnes, chairman of the Logan/Todd Regional Water Commission, said they plan to break ground on both projects very soon.
