Sail Taihoa!

We have been dreaming of sailing on the Bay for years, and finally made it happen and we are so glad we chose to do it with Captain Doug aboard the beautiful Taihoa. Doug tailored the entire afternoon to our family, including our two young kids (4 and 10 years old) who had no prior sailing experience. He made us feel completely safe and engaged, sharing fascinating bits of Bay Area history along the way. It was the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation, with breathtaking views of San Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, and Angel Island. Thank you, Captain Doug, for an unforgettable experience and for introducing our kids to sailing in such a fun and effortless way!

What an experience!! I have been lucky enough to do a bunch of sailing in my life, and Doug makes this experience on the water a truly memorable one. His deep knowledge and enthusiasm for the outdoors and the water makes for an incredible trip. I can’t recommend this enough for locals or visitors in the Bay Area

We had a great day aboard the Taihoa sailing around Angel Island. The boat is a beautiful and well-cared-for piece of history, and it was a privilege to experience it on the water. Captain Dough was a consummate host, letting us experience sailing and immerse ourselves in the history of the San Francisco Bay. We look forward to bringing our family in the future.

Our group of 5 had an amazing experience on Taihoa. Beautiful conditions in early January, and Doug has so many interesting stories about the boat’s history and the local area. As a lifelong Bay Area native even I learned some new history about this part of the bay. Doug is a very cool and relaxed captain. He let some of us steer the helm and help raise the sails as well, so it was super cool to feel like we were sailing ourselves rather than just passengers. I would come back again just to hang with Doug!

Traveled to San Fransisco for the first time and made Sail Taihoa one of our adventures! Best adventure best experience!!! It was a little chilly but we'll worth it! Definitely recommend! Visit Richarson Bay and make this a for sure stop! Captain Doug is awesome!
