After looking through numerous Bay Area newborn photographers, we decided to work with Shefali and it was one of the best decisions we made during our newborn phase. She came to our home for a lifestyle session and made the entire experience feel easy, calm, and beautifully personal. Our dog is a huge part of our family, and Shefali was so thoughtful in including her in the photos in a way that felt effortless and meaningful. The photos turned out absolutely stunning—soft, emotional, and full of the little in-between moments we didn’t even realize were happening. It felt less like a photoshoot and more like someone quietly documenting our love and connection during such a special time. Shefali truly stands out as a Bay Area baby photographer—her talent, warmth, and eye for detail are unmatched. We’ll treasure these photos for a lifetime and can’t wait to work with her again.

I have had the privilege of working with Shefali twice now and have had an amazing experience both times. The first was for a newborn session and the second for an extended family session. Both times I’ve experienced incredible communication and empathy from her. She took her time to understand what our needs were and what was important to us. For my newborn session, I had to reschedule due to a personal situation and she was extremely accommodating. If you’re looking for a compassionate, caring photographer who truly listens then look no further.

I hired Shefali to do photos with my newborn and 3 young children. I didn't spend any time preparing a good setting for her (as I had just come home from the hospital) and it was a very difficult task to get all photo participants to cooperate! Nonetheless, I don't know how she did it, but Shefali managed to capture fantastic moments of my kids together despite them making it as difficult as possible. We ended up with photos I will treasure forever.

Shefali has been our family’s photographer since my maternity shoot and I can safely say I refuse to go to any other photographer! We have had her conduct 4 different sessions and each of them have given us timeless photos that we have plastered all over our home! Shefali is so patient and understanding, and her ability to make you feel relaxed during the shoot is amazing. Our most recent shoot involved a very upset toddler and a hyper doggo, and I left thinking we probably had no good shots, and lo and behold, Shefali yet again created a masterpiece! When I was searching around for a San Francisco maternity photographer, I saw Shefali's IG feed, I knew instantly that she has to be the one to capture this amazing milestone in our life. Shefali was amazing to work with from the beginning to the end. When first reaching out to her, she was really clear on all pricing, questions I had, even the best dates to try to do the maternity shoot at. She is really thoughtful and helpful throughout the process, helping to give advice about locations and even outfits! She even helped give suggestions for what colors my husband should wear that would best compliment my dress. Our dream location in Sutro wasn't looking so great the day of the shoot, and Shefali was so flexible and offering so much advice on what to do and really keeping in touch with us to make sure we would end up with the photos we had envisioned! At our photoshoot, she was completely professional, easy to talk to, and gave such great and clear directions on poses (which is something I appreciated soooo much!!). The perfect, golden hour lighting photographs that I had envisioned in my mind were brought to life thanks to Shefali! The turnaround for our photos was amazing and we're both so happy with all of them and can't wait to work with Shefali in the future for printing and our future family shoots!! I definitely recommend her to all my friends if they are looking for a Bay Area family photographer, especially a San Francisco maternity photographer!
