I'm new to collecting art, and this is a beautiful place to start. Ms. Eileen is an excellent example of a Gallerist who has a wealth of knowledge, research, and art history. You can spend hours just looking at the extensive art collection. She and her space are very welcoming, and I will forever be a customer.
What a great place to be for any art collector. The extensive collection of African American Art works on display for purchase is amazing. The knowledge of the owner is even greater than the collection. If you are ever in Hagerstown or just passing by on the interstate this gallery is must see. But I would just plan a trip there, because you will get lost in the amount of art or great conversation with the owner.
If you love African America art or you want to learn about art in general, you must visit. If you can't make it in, visit the gallery online. I've known Eileen for over 20 years and have several works of art from her gallery, have met amazing artists there, and gained a wealth of knowledge from her.
Had a lovely exchange with Eileen and made some purchases that I am really confident about because of Eileen's unparalleled expertise, advice, and care. This was a remote purchase and I am so thankful that Eileen took the time to share details about the works and her larger ethics around collecting. A real pleasure and I cannot wait to reach out again for more guidance as I begin to collect.
