Very much recommend!!! The nurses and doctors were very friendly and did everything to make sure I was comfortable as possible. Anything I needed was handled quickly and with such good care. I ended up going to the emergency room and then being kept in two nights and they all went above and beyond to make sure it was a great experience. I would definitely go back and couldn’t recommend this place enough, truthfully if it was free I’d move my whole family in that’s how great of experience I had.

The whole team doing my procedure was absolutely amazing. They all took the time to explain everything. I was very upset, not about the procedure, but my mom had just passed a little over a week before and she was always there for anything medical. Everyone was so kind and kept asking if I was ok or if I needed anything. The ultrasound tech (I hope that is her job description) held my hand the whole time to make sure I knew someone was with me. The dr made sure I wasn’t in any pain or discomfort, and made sure everything was 100% sterile (as a nurse myself that was very important).

After a horrible experience at another facility, I ended up calling 911 and transported to medical city Decatur. The ED staff was quick, compassionate, caring, had a sense of urgency and quick critical thinking skills. I was quickly diagnosed and hospitalized for three days. There are so many great staff and doctors that I cannot name them all. I want to say that Layni and Elise stood out the most with their compassion, concern, attention to detail and they talked me through everything step by step. Elise even went beyond to know something personal about me. I felt I was the only patient. As a hospital executive, I would be proud to call these people my team. Here are some names of others that were great too: Lisa CT ED, Lisette, Dr Maedor, Dr Syed, Dr Amhad, Jen TECH, Emily TECH, David and Robert Xray, Patty volunteer, Shelia patient advocate (AMAZING), Yuni sp? (Day nurse with student) very personable, and so many others. The kitchen staff and destiny from housekeeping. I could go on and on but did not catch everyone’s names. I’ll be writing a DAISY for Elise who I felt was the brightest light (along with Shelia). Thank you for what you’re doing. Excellent work!

My experience at Decatur Medical City Hospital was truly a 10/10. From triage to the nurses, CT scan team, and my Dr Denise in the ER department. Every single person treated me with kindness, patience, and respect. I never felt rushed or ignored. They listened to all my concerns, explained everything clearly, and made me feel like a person—not just another patient. The compassion and professionalism meant more than they’ll ever know. I am beyond grateful for the care I received and highly recommend this hospital and staff.

Slow attention in er entire hospital seemed disorganized sat in er for 8 hours before a room became available. Unless I’m having life threatening emergency I will never go back. Wasin for stomach and liver issues. Had a heart monitor on when I asked why they said I had heart failure. I never had and test on my heart and when how they diagnosed hf the nurse called the charge doc and was told it was coded wrong by accident. Nothing like scaring people with stuff that did not exist. Horrible experience
