I eat hot stuff. Really hot stuff. There isn’t anything I haven’t been able to eat so far in my life and so of course my friends told me I must try this place! I’m hoping for the day I can’t finish something! We went there just for their hot sandwich and sadly we were told its ingredients are back ordered. The two staff were very friendly and the guy was upset too they didn’t have the stuff because he said he wanted to see someone try it. I have to say, as a first time customer, the pulled pork sandwich was good but lacking smoky flavor and reminded me more of a crock pott/dutch oven pork butt, but it wasn’t anything to write home about. It was lacking flavor, and in all honesty was either room temperature or maybe even a little colder when it arrived. Standard drink machine, no issues there and was as expected for a BBq joint. Loved the inside dining experience. Also as expected for a BBq joint and feels very inviting. I just can’t get over how we were the only customers and received room temperature food and their staple hot sandwich I’ve been told for years to try wasn’t available and no further hot sauces were available. If the owners see this you guys need to capitalize on this and at least stock other very hot sauces. I don’t buy the excuse it’s not available. There’s so many choices for hot stuff! Will return in a year perhaps to try again and will update my review accordingly… editing to say coleslaw was good.

The atmosphere and decor were really cute and the service was great! But the food was just ok. Nothing to rave about. My husband has smoked brisket, pork and ribs. It's supposed to be juicy and full or smokey flavor. When cooked right, the meat does not need sauce to taste good. The pork here didn't have a ton of flavor. Again, the employees were so sweet. Just wish the food was a little better.
The staff was sweet & seemed to be doing the best they could without a manager or team lead available. The food came out lukewarm at best. When we said something about it, they took the food & said "we'll take care of that for you". They not only didn't bring us fresh food, they brought the SAME food back to us (MICROWAVED!!!!) They said they realized their smoker wasn't working properly & they would get that fixed. We wasted $50 for warm BBQ. Completely disappointed. We will NOT be returning.
Oh no, what happened? The Mean Pig was a place to get awesome BBQ. Today, our office went here for lunch and the food was just awful. Actually had a bad taste in the beef. Others within the party agreed. Almost seems like new owners and new cooks. I remembered when Mean Pig donated food for the 463d Airlift Group during deployment iron swap outs. Would bring the BBQ to those deployed for the 777 EAS... it was delicious. I would avoid this place.
The absolute best BBQ Beef sandwich I have had in a very long time. Perfect tenderness and texture with a really good mild sauce, a little slaw. I mean dang good y’all. A simple lunch stop decision put this longtime favorite back on my mind. With the area getting flooded with various new chains every year, let’s make sure we don’t forget the one that has been around forever and still the best in the business. This guy knows how to make great BBQ and he’s grown up doing it. Do go here. And go often. 🐗
