North Texas Giving Day Returns With Over 3,000 Nonprofits To Support

North Texas Giving Day is coming back, giving residents another chance to put their dollars behind the causes and organizations they care about close to home. The annual giving event, organized by Communities Foundation of Texas, kicks off its 2026 season Aug. 27, ahead of the main event on Sept. 17. Donations can be made through NorthTexasGivingDay.org , where thousands of nonprofits across the region will participate. Since launching in 2009, North Texas Giving Day has raised more than $712 million for nonprofits throughout the region. Giving Starts Aug. 27 Early giving opens Aug. 27, giving donors several weeks to browse participating organizations and make their contributions before the official North Texas Giving Day on Sept. 17. This year, about 3,300 nonprofits across 20 North Texas counties are participating, representing more than 25 cause areas. That includes organizations working in education, health and social services, arts and culture, environmental causes and animal welfare. Last year, more than 100,000 North Texans contributed $78 million during the giving season. “Communities Foundation of Texas leads North Texas Giving Day, the largest community-wide giving event in the nation, as a way to unite and uplift the incredible nonprofits that serve our region year-round,” said
