Aledo dedicates new addition to Sponsler Manor subdivision
By Brian Weckerly,
1 days agoThe City of Aledo dedicated a new addition to a subdivision.
Works has been completed on the first phase of the Sponsler Manor 4th addition. This is the next phase of growth for a subdivision that first began on Aledo's north side in the 1970s. This phase features newly-constructed roads and infrastructure serving 12 lots, which are available for sale as part of the city's efforts to expand housing availability.
According to a release from the City of Aledo:
To encourage new home construction, the City Council has approved a 50% lot incentive program: qualified buyers pay just 50% of the lot price at closing — $25,000 for premium lakefront lots (listed at $50,000) or $20,000 for standard lots (listed at $40,000) — with the remaining balance structured as a promissory note the City will forgive once construction milestones are met, including completion of a new single-family home within 24 months of closing.
The Sponsler Manor 4th addition subdivision is located at 900 NE 7th Ave., Aledo.

The One Crispy Apple I'm Choosing Over Honeycrisp Right Now
Learn about an apple variety that is super crisp and firm that I am getting at apple orchards over Honeycrisp this month. It took a long time from when the Crimson Crisp apple was first bred until it was available to be grown commercially. It was first developed in the 1970s by the PRI (Purdue, Rutgers, and Illnois) co-operative. It wasn't until 2006 that the apple was released for growers. That is a long time in the development process. You don't get rich quick by developing a new apple variety!
