Blackhawk Bank & Trust announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire the former bank branch property at 3325 West Kimberly Road in Davenport, adjacent to Kimberly Commons. The property will become Blackhawk Bank & Trust’s new full-service banking office when the acquisition is complete.

The new office will expand Blackhawk’s presence in Scott County and offer more convenience for current and prospective customers throughout west Davenport and surrounding communities. The location is Blackhawk’s first Davenport branch west of Elmore Avenue.

Blackhawk is a 65-year-old community bank based in Milan with about $2 billion in total assets and locations throughout Scott County, Iowa, and Henry, Mercer and Rock Island Counties in Illinois. The expansion into west Davenport reflects Blackhawk’s continued investment in the Quad Cities and supports its long-term strategy of making banking more convenient and accessible while preserving the personal service, local decision-making and relationship-focused approach its customers know and value.

Blackhawk expects to open the branch in late 2026 or early 2027, depending on regulatory approvals and transition work. Additional plans will be announced as they are finalized.

“For several years, Blackhawk has considered expanding our presence in west Davenport and Scott County,” said W. Gerard Huiskamp, Executive Chairman of Blackhawk Bank & Trust. “This location is a natural next step and reflects our continued investment in the Quad Cities and our commitment to remaining a strong, independent community bank for generations to come. We’re proud of our history, independence and reputation and we’re excited about the opportunities ahead for Blackhawk and the customers and communities we value and serve.”

“We’re excited to bring full-service banking to west Davenport,” said Eric Huiskamp Mutka, President & Chief Executive Officer of Blackhawk Bank & Trust. “This location will make banking more convenient for our existing customers while creating new opportunities to serve individuals, families and businesses throughout the area. Our mission is simple: We Bank so Communities Can Thrive, and growing our presence here is one more way we can live that out. As we continue to grow, what matters most to us doesn’t change. We remain focused on personal service, local decision-making and relationships that last.”
