Lighted golf cart, UTV parade will set Rock Falls aglow for Halloween fun

14 hours agoThe third annual Spooktacular Halloween Lighted Golf Cart & UTV Parade in Rock Falls will be at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, a news release says.
Rock Falls Tourism will bring back this Halloween traditions.
Choose a theme, dress up in your favorite Halloween costume, and deck out your golf cart or UTV to be part of this glowing celebration. Awards will be presented to favorite entries.
The parade will kick off at Rock Falls High School on 11th Avenue, travel down West 2nd Street, turn north onto 2nd Avenue, turn left onto 1st Street, and finish at the MICRO Parking Lot on 4th Avenue.
Registration closes Wednesday, Oct. 14. No walk-up registrations will be accepted. Participants from Rock Falls and surrounding communities are welcome.

“How Has NO ONE Applied?”: Little Mandy Is Still Waiting for Someone to Choose Her
Forever Paws Animal Shelter in Fall River, Massachusetts, says it can’t understand why a small senior dog named Mandy has drawn no interest, posting an emotional plea that begins, “How has NO ONE applied for this girl?! Not a single application, phone call, nothing. What? How? WHY?” The shelter describes Mandy as an affectionate “velcro pup” who “will glue herself to you and never leave,” adding that while she enjoys walks “at a brisk dawdle,” she’d “much rather be in your lap or curled up next to you, as long as she’s touching you somehow.”
