East Moline hosting meeting on Empire Park improvements

1 days agoThe City of East Moline is hosting a public informational meeting and hearing to discuss proposed improvements to Empire Park, including possible upgrades and replacement of playground and park equipment and other related park improvements.
The meeting will be held on August 17 at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall Council Chambers, 915 16th Avenue.
The meeting will give residents and other interested persons an opportunity to learn about the proposed improvements, review potential concepts and priorities for the park and offer comments and input regarding future improvements to Empire Park.
The city is especially interested in public input on playground equipment improvements, recreational amenities, accessibility, safety and other measures that could enhance residents’ and the community’s use of Empire Park.
Residents, property owners, park users and members of the public are encouraged to attend and participate. People who are unable to attend may submit written comments before the meeting via email to mrothert@eastmoline.com or mail them to:

An Elderly Owner Had to Say Goodbye: Can You Be Junior Mint’s New Beginning?
Junior Mint is looking for a new home after being surrendered to Scituate Animal Shelter of Massachusetts when “his elderly owner could no longer care for him,” the shelter said. The playful dog is 8 years old and is described as “a playful fellow,” and the shelter noted that while he is “a little overweight,” he still enjoys staying active and engaged with people and play.
