Storm leads to business closures, limited services
By Sharon Wren,
4 hours agoWidespread power outages are impacting businesses in the Quad Cities.
The Rock Island Public Library’s Southwest Branch, 9010 Ridgewood Road, and Watts-Midtown Branch, 2715 30th Street, have power but no internet. Branches are open regular hours but have limited services – no phones, internet, Wi-Fi, book locker or catalog access.
The previously scheduled America’s 250 history lecture by Army Sustainment Command historians at the Downtown Library for August 12 has been cancelled
The Downtown Library, 401 19th Street, currently does not have full power and is closed. It will remain closed until power is restored. Call the library at 309-732-7323 before heading to the Downtown Library. If the phone is not answered, it means that the library is still without power and is not open. Click here or visit the library’s Facebook page for updates.
UPDATE: Power has been restored to MercyOne Genesis Davenport.
EARLIER: MercyOne Genesis Davenport Medical Center, 1227 E. Rusholme Street, is currently operating on emergency power because of a temporary power outage.
The hospital is coordinating with MidAmerican Energy to resolve this issue. MercyOne will continue to provide all care. The hospital will send out a news release once it has been reconnected to MidAmerican Energy.
