Students will present Nahant Marsh research at public session

At the Nahant Marsh Education Center’s annual Research Poster Session, undergraduate research interns will present the results of their summer-long ecological research projects conducted at one of the Upper Mississippi River’s largest urban wetlands.

The event is free and open to the public from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10, at the Nahant Marsh Education Center, 4220 Wapello Ave., Davenport. Student researchers will present scientific posters..Community members and interns will have one-on-one discussions.

The event offers a behind-the-scenes look at ongoing conservation science taking place in the Quad Cities and highlights the next generation of environmental researchers. Research interns will showcase original scientific research through professional poster presentations and discuss their findings with attendees. Projects focus on wildlife, wetlands, habitat restoration, water quality, and other ecological topics that help guide conservation and management at Nahant Marsh.

Their findings contribute to the long-term stewardship of Nahant Marsh while preparing students for careers in environmental science and conservation.
