2nd seasonal quilt exhibition opens in Geneseo
By Linda Cook,
19 hours agoThe second seasonal show of quilts made by members of the Geneseo Quilt Guild is on exhibit at the Geneseo Quilt Gallery, according to a news release.
At 4:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, a Geneseo Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting will honor this new creative gallery in Geneseo. Members of the Geneseo Quilt Guild will answer questions about the quilted art that is on exhibit.
One quilt, titled “Y2K Millennium Charm Quilt,” has a fascinating history because it took more than 22 years to be completed with 2,000 pieces. These individual pieces came from many parts of the United States, as well as Guam, France, Russia, Saudi Arabia and other countries.
The Geneseo Quilt Gallery is in the upper mezzanine of the Smith Studio and Gallery in downtown Geneseo. Exhibitions are changed seasonally.
Admission to the exhibit is free to the public. Hours at the Smith Studio and Gallery are generally 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday. Visitors can call 309-945-5428 to confirm that the gallery is open or to set up a private viewing.
