By Sharon Wren,
12 hours agoAlternating Currents and Purina are bringing Purina’s Incredible Dog Team to downtown Davenport this August to celebrate Dog Chow’s 100th anniversary and Purina’s nearly century-long connection to the Quad Cities.
Purina’s Incredible Dog Team will perform three free, high-energy shows during the 2026 Alternating Currents festival on Saturday, August 15 at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Residents can gather near 2nd Street and Pershing Avenue to watch these talented canine athletes and their trainers showcase agility, speed, precision and teamwork in a series of exciting demonstrations for the whole family. There will be a special trainer meet-and-greet on Friday, August 14 from 4 to 5:30 p.m., giving attendees a chance to meet some of the dogs behind the performances. All performances and the meet-and-greet are free to attend.
“One minute you’re discovering a new band,” said Alisha Espey, Festival Director for Alternating Currents. “The next, you’re watching incredible dogs soar through obstacle courses and leap through the air. That spirit of discovery is what Alternating Currents is all about. We’re honored to partner with Purina to celebrate a milestone that’s deeply connected to the Quad Cities. Bringing the Incredible Dog Team to downtown Davenport is more than an exciting festival attraction; it’s a celebration of a company that has been woven into the fabric of our community for generations and continues to invest in the place it calls home.”
“As Dog Chow celebrates its 100th anniversary, we’re proud to bring the Incredible Dog Team to a community that has been part of Purina’s story for generations,” said Will Steiner, Factory Manager, Purina. “Alternating Currents is a wonderful opportunity to thank the Quad Cities for its continued support while creating memorable experiences for families and celebrating the incredible bond between people and their dogs.”

You know, when you hire a contractor, you have certain expectations. Maybe they’ll show up a little late. Maybe they’ll disappear for three days because they’re "waiting on materials." Maybe they'll spend half the day leaning against a truck discussing the weather with another guy who's also apparently on an extended coffee break.
