The Rock Island Public Library Watts-Midtown Branch, 2715 30th Street, will close for the remainder of Monday, July 13 due to a lack of air conditioning and rising temperatures inside the building. The closing took effect as of 1 p.m.
The Rock Island Public Library Downtown Library, 401 19th Street, is open until 6 p.m. tonight, and the Rock Island Southwest Branch, 9010 Ridgewood Road, is open until 8 p.m. Both have air-conditioning and are available for anyone who needs to cool off.
