Muscabus will take center stage at Muscatine City Council meeting

MuscaBus will take center stage during Tuesday’s Muscatine Council meeting as the council recognizes the 2026 MuscaBus Driver of the Year and the mayor will proclaim June 26 as MuscaBus Appreciation Day.

The council will convene at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the City Council Chambers, on the second floor of Muscatine City Hall.

Veteran driver Denny Jens was named the 2026 MuscaBus Driver of Year and was recently honored at the Iowa Public Transit Association meeting in Altoona. Mayor Brad Bark will proclaim Friday, June 26, as MuscaBus Appreciation Day and then honor Jens for his recognition.

A public hearing will be held about a rooftop lease agreement with New Cingular Wireless PCS, LLC, for tower space on the roof of the Clark House. A resolution to approve the lease agreement will be voted on later in the council meeting.

• Accepting completed work on the Taxi Lane Construction Project at the Muscatine Municipal Airport
• Approval of purchase easements for West Hill Sewer Separation Phase 6E
• Approve purchase order for a new ambulance
• Approve lease agreement with Grain Processing Corporation for property to house a training facility
• Approve two agreements with Sterns, Conrad & Schmidt Consulting regarding the Muscatine County Landfill
• Approve agreement with City of West Liberty to provide Police Field Training Services
• Approve renewal of city insurance
