Davenport Noon Optimist Club awards scholarships to Davenport high school students

Students from all four of Davenport’s high schools were recently awarded scholarships by the Davenport Noon Optimist Club.

The Davenport Noon Optimist Club’s Promise Awards recognize students who exemplify the values of the Optimist Creed. Each year, three students from each of Davenport’s four high schools are chosen to receive a $1,500 scholarship based on character, service to others, academic success and plans to continue their education post-high school.

Award recipients and their parents attended a recent luncheon in celebration of their accomplishments. Recipients were recognized for their character, service, academic success and positive contributions to their schools and communities. School counselors and teachers chose the recipients.

This year’s 2026 Promise Award Recipients include:

• Koltin Clark, Assumption High School
• Amelia Moore, Assumption High School
• Beau Stevens, Assumption High School
• Haillie Traina, West High School
• Alexis Cooper, West High School
• Sabina Hatari, West High School
• Makenzie Stevenson, North High School
• Eleanor Goodin, North High School
• Jimena Montes Rios, North High School
• Michah Roldan, Central High School
• Giana Shook, Central High School
• Sophia Matthys, Central High School

The club also awarded the Ivory/Optimist Award Scholarship. The scholarship is named for Fran Ivory, a longtime member of the Davenport Noon Optimists and former director of Friendly House. Preference is given to Davenport High students who have a current or past connection to Friendly House or the Davenport Optimist Club. Julia Reagan from Assumption High School is this year’s recipient. She is related to the late Bill Reagan, a longtime member of the QC Morning Optimist Club.
