Heavy rain and strong storms possible Wednesday around Quad Cities

After some relatively quiet weather for the last few days, we’re tracking another chance for showers and storms for Wednesday.

Before that happens, there’s a slight chance for a stray shower or two Tuesday.

But the severe weather chances don’t arrive until Wednesday:

Argos, a 10-year-old, 6-pound senior dog rescued from a Texas shelter, is now “fully vetted and ready to find his retirement home,” according to Small Dog Rescue of New England. In its introduction of Argos, the organization emphasizes both his age and temperament, calling him “a senior guy saved from the shelter in TX” and adding that “if you are looking for an easy going guy, look no further.” The nonprofit says Argos is currently in a foster home in Texas and “doing well,” and the organization is asking the public to share his adoption post to help him find a permanent home in the Northeast.

Great Dog Rescue New England (GDRNE), a dedicated foster-based dog rescue in Massachusetts, would like you to meet Freddie Rocknroll, a loving young puppy who recently came into their care alongside several siblings. According to the rescue, “The ROCKNROLL litter were surrendered by their owners (who have kept their parents), and they're excited for their world tour! Fearless 12-Week-Old Puppy Born Under Porch Now On a Journey to Find Love

PAWS New England, a 501(c) nonprofit all-breed dog rescue, has introduced Brody, an energetic 12-week-old puppy now in their care and heading to New England on July 27th, describing him as a confident, athletic “leader of the pack” who’s ready for a forever home. According to PAWS New England, Brody is a Pit Bull Terrier/Husky mix (no DNA testing has been done) and is currently available for adoption through their website.

Pearl is getting a fresh start, and Animal Rescue of New England, a foster-based rescue in Rhode Island with foster homes throughout New England, says this pearl-white pup will arrive in New England on August 1st and is now accepting adoption applications. According to Animal Rescue of New England, Pearl is about 7 years old, weighs 26 pounds, and is believed to be a Basset Doodle mix, a gentle, loyal companion-in-the-making who’s ready to trade a painful past for a home that feels safe.

Returned After Being "Too Chatty": Little Taxi is Hoping For a Second Chance That Actually Lasts

Taxi is a small, scruffy 27-pound Border Terrier/Pug mix (no DNA done) in Massachusetts who’s looking for a forever home after a disappointing turn of events: Taxi was adopted, then returned, not for aggression or “bad behavior,” but simply for barking at daycare. There Are A Few Hundred Russian Tankers On The Black Sea. In Five Days, Ukraine Droned More Than 70 Of Them.

Hundreds of Russian tankers ply the Sea of Azov and the adjacent Black Sea, hauling fuel between Russian ports and Russian-occupied ports in southern Ukraine and Crimea. On July 7, Ukraine’s drone force finally started hunting the tankers. By day five of the counter-tanker effort, the Ukrainians had hit and damaged no fewer than 76 ships including tankers and even tugboats sent to assist damaged tankers.
