Softball: Livingston Wins on Senior Day, 11-1, Over Caldwell

LIVINGSTON, NJ — The Livingston High School softball team continued on its recent tear with an 11-1 victory over Caldwell on Senior Day Tuesday.

Heather Downey, Caitlin Hernandez and Sophia Mount were honored in ceremonies with their families as the Lancers' three 12th-grade members.

Livingston (16-6) scored six runs in the first two innings against Caldwell. Valentina DiIanni went 3-for-3 with two runs batted in, Olivia Melucci went 2-for-2 with a triple and two RBI, Allie Nankivell and Sophie Rothfeld each had two hits and two RBI, and Lilah Goldstein was 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Mount pitched a five-inning two-hitter with seven strikeouts and two walks for the win, Livingston's fifth victory in its last six games.
