Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies are searching for a male suspect after they say he rammed three patrol cars and drove toward a deputy. The suspect vehicle was found abandoned after the initial response in the 6000 block of W. Prentice Avenue.

According to Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded about 6:40 a.m. Wednesday to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 5000 block of West Brittany Place.

The person inside was slumped over the steering wheel of a tan Lincoln Navigator SUV. Deputies surrounded the vehicle with three patrol cars, exited their vehicles and attempted to make contact with the person inside. The man behind the wheel woke up and immediately attempted to drive away. In doing so, he rammed all three patrol cars in the process.

The suspect drove straight toward a deputy who fired shots at the vehicle but the suspect was able to get away.

A few hours later the suspect vehicle was spotted in the 6000 block of West Prentice Avenue in Denver. Deputies could not see into the car so they deployed a single less-lethal round to clear the window. After, they were able to see that the vehicle was abandoned.

An alert was sent out to the neighborhood to inform residents and ask anyone to call if they see the suspect. Doorbell security video from a home near the abandoned SUV shows a heavy-set white or Hispanic male with facial hair and dark clothing walking away from the area pulling a blue rolling carry-on suitcase.

There were no injuries to any deputies at the scene, and there are no known injuries to the suspect at this time.

The Critical Incident Response Team will investigate the officer-involved shooting.
