MOUNTAIN IRON—Kylee Renzaglia went 4 for 4 at the plate and pitcher Jersey Yernatich struck out seven batters to lead the Mountain Iron-Buhl Rangers softball team to a 12-2 win over Littlefork-Big Falls in five innings Tuesday.

Yernatich gave up five hits and allowed two runs for win in the circle.

The Rangers scored seven runs in the bottom half of the second inning to break a 1-1 tie. Renzaglia opened the frame with a single and advanced to second on a wild pitch. After sophomore Nevaeh Locken drew a walk, both she and Renzaglia advanced to second and third on wild pitches.

Freshman Lindsay Olin then delivered a single to score Renzaglia. Colie Otto drew a walk one to put runners on first and third before Isabelle Mattson hit a sharp double to left-center to drive in Olin and Otto. MIB’s next batter, Natalie Bergman, hit a single up the middle that scored Mattson, who had stolen her way to third.

Mattson ended the day with two hits and two RBI. Bergman was 3 for 4 on the day with two steals.

LFBF scored just one more run, this one in the third inning, as the Rangers put two on the board in the fourth and two more in the fifth, including a single to left by Renzaglia that scored Kylie Johnson and ended the game.

The Rangers travel to North Woods Thursday.
