City of Little Rock announced Thursday that they will be temporarily closing the Southwest Community Center due to a teen found unresponsive in the pool.
According to the city, the 18-year-old was found unresponsive, and a lifeguard on duty performed rescue measures while other staff members called 911.
After medical services responded, the teen was taken to UAMS.
"My sincere prayers are with the young man and his family during this difficult time. The City of Little Rock stands ready to support those impacted, including City staff who immediately responded to the emergency," said Major Frank Scott Jr. "We are grateful for the prompt response and care provided by our first responders and local medical professionals."
The community center will be closed until Saturday, June 3, due to the incident.
