Little Falls baseball plays its biggest game in four decades Friday afternoon in the Class C State Semifinals.
But before the Mounties head down to Binghamton, their star senior was bestowed with one more accolade.
Brayton Langdon won the Mohawk Valley Athlete of the Week for June 1-5.
The pitcher drew the most votes of any nominee due to his stellar performance in the NYSPHSAA Class C Regional against Watkins Glen/Odessa-Montour. He hurled a complete game, allowing just one run and two hits, while striking out nine in a 4-1 win.
The Mounties will battle Section I’s Tuckahoe Friday at 5 p.m. at Maine-Endwell High School.
During the season, a poll launches each Monday at uticaod.com/sports and timestelegram.com/sports to determine the Athlete of the Week from the previous week's top performances. Your vote determines who will be honored as the Mohawk Valley's best.
The poll is live until 8 p.m. Tuesday. The winner is announced as well on our Twitter page.
