Peanut Butter & Milk Festival Committee Update
The Peanut Butter & Milk Festival Committee met earlier this week. Members of the Committee are getting ready for summer fundraisers, and for this fall’s trip to Alabama.
The 2023 student delegates to Alabama will be William Carlson, Cole Huffman and Ole Rogness. There was discussion about how these three would be able to attend the national FFA convention in Indianapolis at the end of October and then be part of the trip to Alabama early in November as they would be returning from Indiana on the same day that the delegates from the PB&M Festival Committee typically fly to Alabama. Final details on this matter will be worked out over the next few months. The Litchfield High School FFA Parliamentary Procedures Team took first place last month at the state FFA convention.
The Litchfield High School FFA officers for the coming year are President Riley Joyer, Vice President Jack Shoutz, Secretary Peyton Ratike, Treasurer Brooke Caron, Reporter Carli Gabrielson, Sentinel Cole Huffman and Student Advisor Cade Cervin.
FFA students and members of the Peanut Butter & Milk Festival Committee will be helping to serve the brat supper at Center National Bank on July 6th, and will also help at the dairy booth during the Meeker County Fair in August. The Committee is still looking for adult delegates to travel to Hartford, Alabama in November.
Also during Tuesday’s Peanut Butter & Milk Festival Committee meeting, Karen Becker mentioned that her family is hosting an event for the Meeker County American Dairy Association – Dinner at the Dairy – on Friday, June 16th from 5-to-8 p.m. at the Ru-Be Dairy Farm – south of Grove City.
The Peanut Butter & Milk Festival Committee will meet next on Tuesday, September 19th at 7 p.m. in the Litchfield High School Ag Room. Everyone is welcome to get involved.
