Special Weather Statement issued for Linn, Miami by NWS
Instruction: If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. A strong thunderstorm, with winds over 40 mph and half inch hail, is expected to affect certain areas of Miami, Linn, Cass and Bates counties until 2:45 PM CDT. The storm, which is moving southwest at 20 mph, was detected by Doppler radar near Adrian and Archie. The gusty winds could cause tree limbs to fall and unsecured objects to blow around, potentially resulting in minor damage to outdoor items. Adrian, Archie, Amsterdam, and Merwin are among the locations that will be impacted. The maximum hail size is 0.50 inches, and the maximum wind gust is 40 mph.
Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued for Chariton, Linn, Macon by NWS
Instruction: For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Northeastern Chariton County, Southeastern Linn County, and Southwestern Macon County in north central Missouri until 545 PM CDT. A severe thunderstorm was detected at 519 PM CDT, moving west at 15 mph, with 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail expected. The impacted areas include Wien, with potential hail damage to vehicles and wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. The maximum hail size indicated by radar is 1.00 in and the maximum wind gust is 60 mph.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued for Chariton, Linn, Macon by NWS

The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill has announced a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for parts of north central Missouri, including North central Chariton County, Southeastern Linn County, and West central Macon County. The warning is in effect until 5:30 PM CDT and is due to a severe thunderstorm moving west at 10 mph near Bucklin, with the potential for 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-sized hail. Marceline, Bucklin, and Saint Catherine are among the locations expected to be impacted, with potential hail damage to vehicles and wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Troopers Arrest Two For The Area Counties
Two arrests for the area are reported by the Missouri Highway Patrol for Wednesday. In Clay County at about 2:45 pm, Troopers arrested 23-year-old Sidney M Duvall of Milan on a Sullivan County warrant for alleged invasion of privacy. He is held at the Clay County Jail pending the posting of bond.

Three face charges in Linn County for attempted counterfeiting and vehicle theft
Three individuals face felony charges in Linn County after allegedly attempting to print counterfeit money. Twenty-year-old Gracyn June Hendricks of Kansas City and 36-year-old Macie Nycole Parrent of Saint Paul, Minnesota have each been charged with three counts of forgery and one count of possession of a forging instrument. Twenty-nine-year-old Tyler Lee McFarland has been charged with four counts of forgery, one count of possession of a forging instrument, and first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle. They are to appear in court on May 25th.
Three Charged With Alleged Counterfeiting
Alleged counterfeiting charges are filed against three in Linn County. Brookfield Police investigated the report of an attempt to pass counterfeit bills at a retail business in Brookfield and arrested 29-year-old Tyler Lee McFarland and 20-year-old Gracyn June Hendricks of Kansas City and 36-year-old Macie Nycole Parrent of Saint Paul, Minnesota following the investigation and search of their vehicle and hotel room.
Three of Seven County, Neighboring Class 1 State Entries Medal
JEFFERSON CITY — While the number of Linn County or neighboring school track-and-field athletes competing in last weekend’s 2023 Class 1 Missouri State High School Activities Association Championships was pretty limited, it did not keep them from turning in a few medal-earning performances. With only seven state entries from Meadville, Linn County R-1, or Mendon: Northwestern in the meet at Jefferson City High School’s “Pete” Adkins Stadium last Friday and Saturday, the odds of county small schools being blanked at the state meet – Bucklin/Macon County R-4 did not get anyone through to state – were not low, but they were beaten, albeit in modest manner.
