These girls of the softball team for 10 year olds in Linden this summer were pretty good athletes. They earned second place in the end-of -the-season softball tournament in Hughes Springs.

But they were champions when it came to running a lemonade stand.

First, they set up near the old Dollar Store in Linden on a recent Saturday and made two of the biggest jugs of lemonade that could be found short of the Texas State Fair.

Each of the jugs held five gallons of lemonade. These jugs got filled eight times during the 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. sale time.

“They were raising money for a season end team party,” tells granddad Justin Bunn. “They raised so much they were able to buy a water slide for the party. That was something everyone could enjoy.”

The girls had played for the L-K Tigers girls’ softball team. They’d played in a league at Crow-Heath Park and then in other tournaments around the region.

Something of that winning attitude must have prevailed at the lemonade stand.

“These girls are business minded, especially my granddaughter,” Bunn continued. “She has the right name. She’s Miracle Cunningham.”

Miracle already knows what she wants to major in in college.... business, granddad tells. tells.

The other girls of the lemonade squad were Victoria Ulrich, Raegan Christian and Karen Gamble. If life gives them lemons, they’ll make lemonade.
