LINDEN — The Linden Depot Museum will open for the season Friday.

The museum will be open noon to 5 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Admission price is $6 for adults and $1 each for children and includes all museum attractions.

Two special events are planned this summer. The first is from noon to 5 p.m. June 25 and will showcase the European HO model railroad attraction. The museum acquired a large donation of European HO model railroad equipment, including Marklin, Roco, Fleischmann, and others. Board member Greg Reynolds, a retired Rolls-Royce electrical engineer, has worked on this project for more than two years to make the attraction an outstanding exhibit of European HO superb technology.

The second special event will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 12 when the museum celebrates the Third annual Midwest Railroad Fair. The fair will include railroad exhibitors, railroad vendors, food vendors, and much more. During the fair, the museum will run its 1837 Norris 4-2-0 steam engine. Three trips will be made at 10:30 a.m., noon and 2:30 p.m. This is a chance of a lifetime to experience 1837 railroad transportation. The train fare is $25 per person, includes a gourmet dessert, drink, and a narrated trip. Each trip will accommodate eight persons. Tickets are on sale now and are available at the museum or by calling 765-427-3630.

The museum is located at 520 N. Main St., Linden.
