LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Country music artist Scotty McCreery is performing at Volleyball Day in Nebraska, officials announced Monday.

The concert will be held after Nebraska volleyball faces UNO at Memorial Stadium on Aug. 30.

McCreery’s career took off in 2011, when he won “American Idol.”

Since then, he has released five studio albums, three of which reached No. 1 on the country charts.

Nebraska is looking to set an attendance record for an NCAA volleyball match, which is currently 18,755 (Wisconsin vs. Nebraska in the 2021 NCAA championship).

The largest crowd for any women’s sporting event in the United States was 90,185 for the 1999 World Cup final between USA and China.

Over 90,000 tickets have been sold for the event.
