Capital Humane Society brings back yoga night to support shelter, animals

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – After a five-year hiatus, the Capital Humane Society is bringing back Poses and Paws Yoga Night to Lincoln.

During the hour-long yoga class on Monday, puppies and kittens will roam around participants.

The event will be held at the Pieloch Adoption Center from 6 to 7 p.m.

Matt Madcharo, executive director of CHS, says they’ve done similar events in the past that were very successful.

“They’re probably going to get distracted, they’re going to you know, stop in the middle of their poses and, you know, pet the dogs or the cats,” Madcharo said.

Madcharo says they hope to make yoga night a staple in the community.

“We hope to do this again in the future,” he said. “Pay attention to our social media or website and we’ll probably have more dates coming up later this summer.”

All proceeds will help support the shelter and animals at the Pieloch Adoption Center.

Tickets for the event can be found on the Capital Humane Society’s website.
