LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested Saturday after officers found him with a loaded gun and meth, Lincoln Police say.

Around 10:30 p.m., officers pulled over a vehicle near 10th Street and Lincoln Mall.

During the traffic stop, a passenger in the vehicle – 32-year-old Matthew Stout – got out and ran toward a nearby gas station.

Officers caught up with the man and took him into custody.

In his pockets, Stout had narcotics paraphernalia, which tested positive for the presence of meth, police said.

Later on, Stout – who gave officers a false name – was found to have two outstanding arrest warrants, according to police.

During a search of the vehicle, officers found a loaded Ruger Mark IV .22-caliber handgun in a small bag.

Stout was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm by a prohibited person, possession of a controlled substance and criminal impersonation.
