Rocklin incident report: Work vehicle burglaries and 4 DUI arrests
The Rocklin Police Department publishes a weekly crime report, here are the published incidents from April 8-14. At 6:15 a.m., Rocklin Police Dispatch was contacted by a business, which advised that several of their company work vehicles had been broken into overnight and tools were stolen on the 3900 block of Atherton Road. Officers responded, processed the vehicles for evidence, and canvassed the area for surveillance camera footage. At this time, the investigation is ongoing.

Judge drops all charges against man arrested in connection with Caldor Fire
All charges have been dropped against a Folsom man who was arrested in connection with the 2021 Caldor Fire. Travis Shane Smith, 32, and his father David Scott Smith, 66, were arrested and charged with reckless arson in December 2021, months after the start of the wildfire. Both pleaded not guilty to the charges. In January, a judge ruled that there was “not sufficient evidence” to take the case to trial.

CARMICHAEL, Calif. — One person was injured in a house fire in Carmichael on Wednesday. When crews arrived, they found a fire in the back of the home that extended into the attic. Inside the home, there was a person with limited mobility. The person was taken to a hospital for smoke inhalation.
