Sam Burns was found on the practice range at Oak Hill Country Club on Wednesday with a very special golf bag at his side.
The Callaway bag was designed by Lima native Steve Donegan, especially for the PGA Championship.
Plaid panels and initials pay tribute to the designer of the course, Donald Ross, and the colors reflect our community.
“I think the colors reflect Rochester pretty well and the hint of lilac, you know, it's a tribute to the area," Donegan said. "And in the pocket linings of the bag, I have an autumn color, oak leaves in a pattern of the lining, like it would be the lining of a suit."
Oak leaves for more than 40,000 oak trees were planted while building the course, all orchestrated by local physical civic leader John Ralston Williams, whose initials are also on the bag.
