LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — The woman who pleaded guilty to the shooting death of LaPorschia Stringer in 2019 has been sentenced.

Markeeta Campbell was sentenced to 13 years without the possibility of parole on June 2.

According to court documents, Campbell’s murder charge was amended to manslaughter as a condition of her plea deal.

Stringer was shot and killed inside her car at the intersection of Nicholasville Road and Wilson Downing Road in 2019. Stringer was taken to the UK Hospital, where she was pronounced dead two days later.

At the time, witnesses told police that a dark-colored car pulled up in front of Stringer’s vehicle and fired multiple shots into it.
